I’m really glad I took a chance on this one. I flew through the first book in a single day and immediately wanted to jump into the second. The story completely pulled me in, and now I’m fully invested in where it’s going next.
This was my first time reading this author, and I was honestly impressed. The writing flowed really well, the plot kept my interest the whole time, and I enjoyed the side characters just as much as the main ones. I’m especially excited to see more of Amaury in book two. The MCs had great chemistry and I liked the way their relationship built.
The illustrations are soooooooo pretty. They’re gorgeous and fit the story's tone perfectly, adding so much to the reading experience. I feel like the author chose great scenes to illustrate, too! MAYBE one with all three brothers would have been a good addition.
I’m giving it four stars only because I expected a bit more spice. I kept thinking something bigger was coming, and when it didn’t quite get there, I was left wanting more. I feel like those scenes are definitely the area that the author could improve, not necessarily in the quantity of them but in the quality of them (writing-wise). Still, I’ll absolutely be picking up the next books, especially when the third one is releasing soon!
